K-State students from Hays receive research scholarships

MANHATTAN — Thirty-three undergraduate students in the College of Arts and Sciences at Kansas State University are receiving research awards for fall 2023. Award recipients will do semester-long faculty-mentored research projects and receive $1,000 scholarships.

Undergraduate students enrolled full time in any major in the college are eligible for the research awards, which are offered in spring, summer and fall. Applications for spring 2024 are due Nov. 1.

Students receiving College of Arts and Sciences Undergraduate Research Awards for fall 2023 include: Hailey Casey, senior in biology, mentored by Katsura Asano, professor of biology, and Marrissa Raynesford, senior in chemistry, mentored by Christer Aakeroy, university distinguished professor of chemistry, both from Hays.
