THOMAS COUNTY—One person was injured in an accident just before 5a.m. Monday in Thomas County.
The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2024 Peterbilt semi driven by John Gardiol, 74, Idaho Falls, Idaho, was westbound on Interstate 70 near milepost 40 four miles east of the Brewster exit. The vehicle traveled into the north ditch. The driver attempted to correct back onto the highway and the semi rolled one time and came to rest on it's wheels.
EMS transported Gardiol to Citizens Medical Center. He was properly restrained, according to the KHP.
