🏀 Wichita State selected for NIT, open at Oklahoma State

WICHITA, Kan. – Wichita State is one of 32 teams selected for the 2025 National Invitation Tournament (NIT) and will open at Oklahoma State on Tuesday, March 18 at 8 p.m. CT on ESPN2.

Wichita State (19-14) will make its 14th appearance in the NIT and first since 2019. Out of the Big 12 Conference, Oklahoma State finished the season at 15-17. Wichita State is 11-32 all time against the Cowboys with the two teams splitting each of the last four meetings.

Wichita State is 11-12 all time in the NIT which includes a 2011 NIT championship.

The winner of Wichita State and No. 4 seed Oklahoma State will advance to play the winner of No. 1 SMU and Northern Iowa on March 22-23.

First round play is scheduled for Tuesday and Wednesday, March 18 and 19, with the second round playing March 22 and 23. Quarterfinals will be held March 25 and 26 with four teams advancing to historic Hinkle Fieldhouse in Indianapolis for the semifinals on Tuesday, April 1. The oldest postseason tournament in college basketball will conclude with the 87th NIT championship game on Thursday, April 3.
