RUSSELL COUNTY—One person was injured in an accident just before 1p.m. Tuesday in Russell County.
The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2024 Toyota Rav4 driven by Jenny L. Nance, 75, Golden, Colorado, was eastbound on Interstate 70 at 200th Street. The driver looked away from the roadway to adjust the position of her pet. The SUV drifted to the right side of the road and the driver over-corrected. The vehicle entered into the south ditch and rolled onto its top.
EMS transported Nance to the hospital in Russell. She was properly restrained at the time of the accident, according to the KHP. The Patrol did not have an update on the condition of her pet.
