
Robert
W. Fields, age 67, of Knoxville, Illinois died at 4:07 P.M. on
Wednesday, June 10, 2020 at his home in Knoxville, Illinois.
Robert was born on January 30, 1953 in Galesburg, Illinois the son of J.
Marshall and Helen Louise (Hanson) Fields. He attended and graduated
from Knoxville High School in 1972.
Surviving are two sisters:
Mary Ann (and Marvin) Blair of Pueblo, Colorado and Marsha (and David)
Bailey of rural Gilson, Illinois; one brother, John M. (and Lynn) Fields
of Galesburg, Illinois: Five nieces and many great nieces, nephews and
friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
He began
working for Swanson Seed Farm, then he worked as a farm hand for the
Bailey Farms, rural Gilson, Illinois; Phil and Jeff Johnson farm in
rural Gilson, Illinois; he retired from Carl Sandburg College,
Galesburg, Illinois, in the custodial department. After his retirement he
worked the summers as grounds keeper for the city of Knoxville, Illinois. He attended Community Bible Church and was a member
of the parking crew.
Visitation will be held from 2:00 P.M.
to 4:00 P.M. on Sunday, June 14, 2020 at the Hurd-Hendricks Funeral
Homes & Crematory, family may not be present. Due to COVID-19
restrictions face masks and social distancing required. Private
graveside services will be held on Monday, June 15, 2020 at the Westfall
Cemetery, Rural Victoria, Illinois. Rev. Jordan Knight Officiating.
