Russell, Phillips counties lift COVID-19 restrictions

RUSSELL — The Russell County Health Department on Wednesday issued its plan for reopening the county.

"The Russell County Health Department, in consultation with the County Board of  Health and Russell County Emergency Manager, will not impose any restrictions on businesses or residents of Russell County," the health department said in a news release.

The department, however, urged residents and visitors to continue to observe social distancing, as well as hand washing, respiratory etiquette and staying home if ill.

Ellis County issued a similar order Wednesday.
