Teresa Marie Jilg

Teresa Marie Jilg, 94, passed away May 12, 2020, at River Bend Assisted Living, Great Bend. She was born May 21, 1925 in Olmitz, to Adolph and Rosa (Hickey) Bahr. Teresa married Carl A. Jilg August 20, 1946, in Olmitz. He died October 30, 2016.

A long-time Albert resident, Teresa was a bank teller for Farmers Bank & Trust in Albert and Otis State Bank in Otis. After retiring, she worked at the Albert Post Office. Teresa was a member of St. Ann Catholic Church in Olmitz, Daughters of Isabella and the Altar Society. Survivors include, two daughters, Susan Worthen and husband Lane of McKinney, Texas, and Eileen Walcher of Great Bend; a brother, Eugene Bahr of Olmitz; a sister, Rose Marie Frieb of Olmitz; four grandchildren, Jeff Worthen, Michelle Schindler, Bryan Worthen, and Billy Brown, II; fourteen great grandchildren; and five great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Carl Jilg; a son in law, Dean Walcher; a brother, Roland Bahr; and a granddaughter, Christina Brown.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m., Saturday, May 16, 2020, at St. Ann Catholic Church in Olmitz, with Father Anselm Eke presiding. Interment will follow at St. Ann Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Friday, May 15, at Bryant Funeral Home, with the family present from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., and Rosary at 7:00 p.m. A livestream of Friday evening’s Rosary will be available at www.bryantfh.net under Teresa’s obituary, and a recording of the Mass will be available Saturday afternoon. Memorials may be given to St. Ann Catholic Church or Albert Fire Department, in care of Bryant Funeral Home.
