William J. “Bill” Weber, 64, WaKeeney, died Thursday, April 30, 2020 at HaysMed.
He was born August 27, 1955 in Hays, the son of Leonard and Dorothy (Augustine) Weber. He graduated from Ellis High School in the class of 1973. On September 28, 1974 he was united in marriage to Elaine M. Augustine, and they celebrated 45 years of marriage. For 13 years, he was the production manager at Sizewise in Ellis. He was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church in WaKeeney, Third Degree Knights of Columbus Council #4113 of WaKeeney, and Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus Rev. Vincent G. Langguth Assembly. He enjoyed playing guitar, playing card games, and pitching horseshoes. He loved helping others and was always filled with joy when playing with his grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife; Elaine of the home in WaKeeney, his mother; Dorothy Weber of WaKeeney, his father-in-law and mother-in-law; Gilbert and Janet Augustine of Ellis, three sons; William “Bill” Weber, Jr. and wife Tiffany and Michael Weber and wife Christine, all of Hays, and Jason Weber of Tempe, AZ, a daughter; Kimberly Schmidtberger and husband Corey of Olathe, two sisters; Donna Schoenthaler and husband Doug of Ellis and Patti Unrein and husband Joe of Hays, three brothers; Jerry Weber and wife Joan of Lee’s Summit, MO, Ed Weber and wife Charlene and Curtis Weber and wife Mary Kay, all of Ellis, nine grandchildren; Morgan Weber, Sheldon Weber, Allison Weber, Patrick Weber, Grant Weber, Samuel Weber, Danielle Weber, Jacob Schmidtberger, and Josie Schmidtberger, and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father; Leonard, two grandsons; Peyton Weber and Jonah Schmidtberger, and a niece; Erin Weber.
A private family Mass of Christian burial will be at 10:00 am on Tuesday, May 5, 2020 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Hays. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Ellis. Mass will be livestreamed on the St. Joseph Church Facebook Page.
