Allan Carpenter

Allan Carpenter, son of Frank and Nellie May (Hodge) Carpenter, was born December 21, 1929, in Graham County, Kansas, and passed away at the Norton County Hospital in Norton, Kansas, on April 30, 2020, at the age of 90.

Allan grew up in Graham County and attended rural schools. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He lived in the northwest states for many years where he was a heavy equipment operator. He later returned to the Lenora/Norton area where he worked at Jamboree Foods for several years. On February 24, 1996, Allan and Karen Heisel Schwab were united in marriage in the Methodist Church in Studley, Kansas. They made their home in Lenora and later moved into Norton.

Allan was a member of the Lenora Church of God and the American Legion.

Survivors include: his wife, Karen, of their home in Norton; his daughter, Nellie "K.C." Carpenter and husband, Chetan Saswade, Morrisville, North Carolina; his step-sons and their wives, Kevin and Christine Schwab, Wellsville, Kansas; Rick and Denise Schwab, Norton; Brad and Teresa Schwab, Lawrence, Kansas; his step-daughters, Renee Minium, Pfluggerville, Texas; Tish Minium, Boston, Massachusetts; two sisters, Jackie Anderson, Reno, Nevada; and Donna, and husband, Gene Catone, Rancho Cucamonga, California; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends.

Allan was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, Leland, Robert, Frank and Kenneth, five sisters, Ruth Bosler, Velma Eaton, Ruby Meile, Eileen Hunter and Elva Carpenter (in infancy.)

GRAVESIDE SERVICE AND INTERMENT – Monday, May 5, 2020 – 11:00 a.m.

VISITATION – Sunday, May 4, 2020 – 2:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.
