Active cases: As determined by the Public Health office. Patients are currently in isolation with daily contact from the ECHD.
Recovered cases: Following KDHE guidelines patients have completed isolation, have had significant improvement of symptoms and have gone 72 hours fever free with no fever-reducing medication.
Total cases: Total number of lab-confirmed Covid-19 patients that reside in Ellis County. Includes both active cases and recovered cases.
Many have noticed the inconsistency between KDHE and ECHD numbers. KDHE has determined that a problem exists between some private labs and the KDHE lab. This does not impact notification to the ECHD. We are notified of all positives and begin the contact tracing immediately.
