COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Fort Hays State seniors Hayden Kreutzer (football) and Courtney Batchman (women's track and field) received the 2020 National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) All-American Athlete Award. Both receive the honor based off athletic accomplishments and dedication to strength and training, nominated for the award by Fort Hays State Strength and Conditioning Coach Doug Boucher.
Kreutzer had a strong finish to his football career at FHSU, recording 69 tackles, two interceptions, and five pass breakups in his senior year of 2019. That performance was good for an All-MIAA Honorable Mention selection at defensive back. After seeing time as a key reserve for three years, Kreutzer worked his way into a starting role on the Tiger defense in 2019. He finished his career with 102 tackles, three interceptions, and seven pass breakups, recording well over half of the tackles in his senior year. He was also a member of the MIAA Academic Honor Roll during his time as a Tiger. Kreutzer is a native of Hays, Kansas.
Batchman competed for the track and field squad for three years and graduated at the end of the fall semester in 2019 with a degree in Nursing. She was a multi-event athlete for the Tigers, regularly competing in the pentathlon and heptathlon. Batchman produced the highest point total of her career in the heptathlon at the 2018 MIAA Outdoor Championships, scoring 4,121 points. She posted the highest point total of her career in the pentathlon at the 2019 MIAA Indoor Championships, where she totaled 3,011 points. She was a member of the MIAA Academic Honor Roll on a yearly basis in her time as a Tiger. Batchman is a native of Sylvan Grove, Kansas.
