Beverly June (Simmelink) Remus the daughter of George & Anna (Kuiken) Simmelink was born north of Downs, KS on April 9, 1930. She peacefully passed away on April 18, 2020 at the Salina Regional Hospital, Salina, KS at the age of 90.
Beverly attended Green Valley School & graduated from Downs High School in 1948. Beverly worked as a nurse's aide for the hospital in Beloit, KS and later was employed as a telephone operator at Southwestern Bell Telephone Company in Downs, KS.
On June 14, 1949, Beverly was united in marriage to Max D. Remus at the Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Cawker City, KS. To this union, 5 children were born: Pamela Dee, Charles William II, Perry Steven, Bradley George and Kelsey Max. The couple resided on a farm south of Cawker City until 1967 when they moved to a farm near Osborne, KS. It was here that the couple developed a very reputable Clydesdale farm named Solomon's Clydesdales. They spent quality time together traveling to many states to show & sell their prize-winning Clydesdales. In 1977 they retired back to Cawker City. Max & Beverly celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary in June 1999. Max passed away on October 20, 1999.
Beverly lived life to the fullest & was a loving servant & devoted member of the Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Cawker City, KS. She was a faithful member of the Ladies Guild & proud to be a Red Hat Lady. Family was Beverly's main passion & she loved to visit & call her grandchildren & great-grandchildren often. Her fun-loving personality brought many laughs & crazy presents that her family will cherish forever. Beverly had a love for flowers & friends. She would call upon her friends often & spent many hours giving to others. Her ultimate love was perhaps her dog, Chica. Chica & Beverly shared a special bond that tied the two of them together forever.
Beverly is preceded in death by her parents, husband Max, son Bradley, daughter-in-law Twyla (Brummer) Remus, & grandson Kyle.
Left to celebrate her life are her children Dee Dee Remus, Schottsdale, AZ; C. W., Glen Elder, KS; Perry (Linda) Remus, Downs, KS; Kelsey (companion, Kathy McCart, Osborne, KS. Her 8 grandchildren; Sheldon (Michelle) Remus, Cawker City, KS; Creighton (Shauna) Remus, Glen Elder KS; Dalton (KC) Remus, Downs, KS; Nolan (Bethany) Remus, Cawker City, KS; Morgan (Jacque) Remus, Billings, MT; Gina (Doug) Norman, Lenexa, KS; Jared (Chelsi) Remus, Downs, KS; Misty (Jason) Schoenberger, Russell, KS. Her beloved great-grandchildren; Bey Lee & Lauren Brummet, Peyton & Hudson Remus, Reece, Ryker & Rylee Remus, Ace & Vale Remus, Hagen, Grant, & Charlotte Remus, Joanna & Alaina Norman, Jaycee & Austen Remus, Pierce, Ava, & Kimber Schoenberger. Beverly is also survivied by her sister Betty Schoen of Downs, KS & a host of extended family & friends.
