Patty Kay Pruitt, 50, died Saturday, April 18, 2020 at her home in Garden City, Kansas. She was born November 9, 1969 in Vernon, Texas the daughter of Donnie Leon & Betty G. (Howard) Pruitt.

Born in Vernon, Texas, Patty later moved with her family to Leoti, Kansas when she was four years old. A short time later, they moved to Scott City, Kansas where Patty attended Scott City schools and graduated from Scott Community High School in 1988. She then moved and lived in Fountain, Colorado, Came back to Scott City, Jacksonville, Florida, and back to Scott City again. She later moved to Garden City in the late 1990’s where she has lived since. While living in Garden City, Patty worked at both Hannah’s Corner and Pizza Hut. She enjoyed animals especially horses, helping people, visiting with people, and she was an avid Green Bay Packers fan.

Survivors include three children Shaunta & husband Ramon Aguilar of Denver, Colorado, Devontea Ward of Garden City, Kansas, and Patricc Pruitt of Garden City, Kansas; her mother Betty G. Pruitt of Garden City, Kansas; and two sisters Betty Pruitt of Jacksonville, Florida and Melissa Brown of Wichita, Kansas. Patty is preceded in death by her father and a brother Gerry Lee Pruitt.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, April 24, 2020 via Facebook Live on the Garnand Funeral Home Facebook page. There will be no calling hours. A private family interment will take place at a later date. The family suggests memorials given to the Patty Pruitt Memorial Fund in care of Garnand Funeral Home of Garden City.
