Shawn Andrew McKeon, age 49 of Osborne, KS passed away on Saturday, April 18th, 2020. Shawn was born on June 17th, 1970, in Bayonne, New Jersey, to Pamela and Andrew McKeon.
Shawn served in the Army National Guard and was honorably discharged in 1989. In 1990, he became an EMT. He sincerely enjoyed this job. In 1995, he graduated from Schenectady Community College with his Associate’s degree in criminal justice; in 1996 he graduated from Ellis Hospital School of Nursing with his RN license. Shawn had a passion for serving others and being outdoors. He worked as a nurse and EMT for many years, as well as gardening and helping out on the Schoen’s farm. He also ran a business, Service First Computers, out of his home for 20 years.
Shawn met the love of his life, Rita (Hageman) McKeon upon moving to Osborne, KS from New York. They were wed in October of 1999, and to this union, two children were born. Shawn is survived by his mother, Pamela McKeon, of Colorado Springs, CO; his wife Rita McKeon, daughter Chloe, and son Ty of Osborne, KS; step-daughter Laura and spouse Jeff Charbonneau; and granddaughter Jaci Charbonneau, all of Smith Center, KS.
A memorial service will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be sent to Schoen’s Funeral Home, 302 N Hersey Ave, Beloit, KS 67420. Memorials will be given to Parkview Care Center of Osborne or the McKeon Children Educational fund.
