First Care Clinic
Over the weekend, we had an employee swabbed for COVID-19 due to exposure outside of work. We were recently notified that this employee tested positive. The safety and health of our patients and employees is very important. We have been working closely with the Ellis County Health Department, the Kansas Department of Health and Environment and other healthcare officials to identify all close contacts (patients and employees) from April 2 through April 9, 2020. As of this release, these individuals have been contacted by our staff and instructed to self-quarantine for 14 days. The employee who tested positive is feeling well and has been self-quarantined for five days.
First Care Clinic is committed to staff and patient safety. While we are continually cleaning our facility, we encourage everyone to stay home and call us if you need to seek medical or dental care. If appropriate, we can schedule you for a telehealth appointment where you see your provider virtually using HIPAA compliant technology. If you would like to schedule an appointment or have COVID-19 concerns, please call us at 785-621-4990. To minimize your risk of exposure to COVID-19, please continue to follow standard precautions as outlined by the Kansas Department of Health and Environment:
• Wash hands frequently with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. If soap and water is not available, use hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol.
• Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth. Stay home as much as possible.
• Distance yourself from others when in public, especially if you are a senior or have a medical condition that puts you in a high-risk category.
• Cover your mouth and nose with a cloth mask when in public. Cover coughs and sneezes with an elbow or tissue. Throw the used tissue away and immediately wash your hands.
• Clean and disinfect frequently touched surfaces daily -- including phones, keyboards, doorknobs, handles and light switches – with an EPA-registered disinfectant.
