Robert Kendall 'Bob' Bayless

Robert Kendall “Bob” Bayless, 63, passed away April 11, 2020, at his home in Great Bend. He was born on May 24, 1956, to Roy S. Bayless, Jr. and Evelyn C. (McClain) Bayless.

Bob was a life time resident of Great Bend and a veteran of the United States Navy, serving during the Vietnam Era. He obtained the rank of Petty Officer 2nd Class and served aboard the U.S.S. Hawk Bill. Carrying on his family’s business legacy, Bob was a co-owner of Bayless Dry Cleaning, having retired in 2019. He was an avid golfer, fisherman, gardener, hunter and enjoyed blues music.

Survivors include, two sons, Logan Bayless (Lakin) of Greenwood, Mo., and Wyatt Bayless (Kenzie Schmitt) of Prairie Village; two brothers, David Bayless and wife Shari of Great Bend, and Stephen Bayless and wife Judy of Helena, Mont.; two sisters, Jane Goodwin, and Barbara Achatz and husband Charlie, all of Great Bend; and three grandchildren, Alex Bayless, Sophia Bayless, and Isabelle Bayless. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Private family inurnment will take place at Golden Belt Memorial Park with Pastor LeRoy Keith presiding. Memorials are suggested to Ducks Unlimited, in care of Bryant Funeral Home.
