Leo A. Ochs

Leo Ochs was born February 19, 1927, to Anton and Eleanor (Heier) Ochs.  He passed away April 9, 2020 at Gove County Medical Center at the age of 93. He married Eulalia Goetz on April 11, 1950 at the Sacred Heart Church in Park. Together they farmed and raised their family with a devout faith in God on their farm near Park. They were married nearly 70 years and Leo made daily visits to Eulalia to be with her when she entered the long-term care facility.   He proudly served in the United States Army during WWII including overseas duty in Germany. He was a member of the Sacred Heart Church and the Knights of Columbus.  

Leo brought such life and light to this world.  We will dearly miss his infectious laughter, mischievous grin, stories, and love and devotion to his wife and family.

Survivors include his wife, Eulalia; and children, Donita Ochs of Hoxie, Sherri (Randy) Wolf of Hays, Randy Ochs of Park, Rick (Judy) Ochs of Park, Roger (Karen) Ochs of North Platte NE, Jerilyn (Ken) Rowe of Wichita, Michelle (Dan) Hoverson of Valley Center KS; Son In Law, Elmer Zimmerman of Hoxie; his grandchildren, Chad (Angela) Zimmerman of Colby, Fr. Mitchel Zimmerman of Lawrence, Shauna (James) Elling of Colby, Norman Zimmerman of Wichita, Rodney Zimmerman of Colby, Thomas (Jayme) Zimmerman of Quinter, Kevin (Stephanie) Wolf of McPherson, Tyler (Nichole) Wolf of Hays, Kristin Wolf of Hays, Luke (Amanda) Ochs of Quinter, Jesse Ochs of Denver CO, Jordan (Lindsay) Ochs of Wichita, Kierra (Jack) Larsen of Omaha NE, Jillessa (Torey) McMullen of Anselmo NE, Chase Ochs of North Platte NE, Karson Rowe of Houston TX, Kortney Rowe of Wichita, Ryan, Dylan and Nathan Hoverson of Valley Center KS; 21 great-grandchildren; and brother, Billy Ochs of Park.

He was preceded in death by daughter, Yvonne Zimmerman, his parents, brothers, John, Pete, and Steve Ochs and sisters, Susanna Zerr, Rosie Goetz, Anna Mary Zerr and Esther Tanguay.

Private burial has taken place in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Park.  Memorial services will be at a later date.
