Ellis County voters have approved a pair of quarter-cent sales taxes to help fund health services and the county’s general fund.
According to unofficial election results of Tuesday countywide sales tax election, Ellis County voters approved a quarter-cent sales tax to fund health services in Ellis County 4,260 to 2,261 (65 percent to 35 percent).
Voters also approved a second quarter-cent sales tax to fund general operations within Ellis County by a vote of 3,886 to 2,630 (59 percent to 41 percent).
The official election canvass is scheduled for April 16 at 5 p.m.
