Vern Ruder, Hays, is the third candidate to file for the Ellis County Treasurer position in the 2020 election.
Ruder filed last month as a Republican.
Current Treasurer Lisa Schlegel also recently filed for re-election. She was elected to her first term in 2016.
The deadline for party-affiliated candidates to file for the November election is noon June 1. The deadline for independent candidates to file is Aug. 3.
The 2020 primary election is Aug. 4.
