Alden B. Miner, 102, passed away on April 1, 2020 at the Cedar Village Care Center in Ness City, Kansas. He was born on April 1, 1918 in Ness City, the son of Percy and Mildred (Borthwick) Miner.

Alden was an Abstractor and owner of Miner Brothers, a firm that had been in existence since 1885. He belonged to the Masonic Lodge, Rotary, the Frank Stull American Legion Post No. 152, and the United Methodist Church. He served his community on the city council and school board and his country in World War II, and the Korean Conflict. He was a pilot and loved to fly. His crowning achievement was being a tuba player. He married Gwendolyn L. Lee on May 28, 1942, in Las Vegas, Nevada. One of the many things they enjoyed was traveling the world together. She died on March 12, 2016.

Survivors include son, Dennis (Judy) Miner of Shawnee, KS; daughter-in-law, Beth Miner of Ness City; grandchildren, Allen (Carrie) Miner, Ann (Shawn) Gottfried, Andrea (Shannon) Washburn, Daniel Miner; and 11 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Gwendolyn, and son William Miner.

A memorial service will be announced and held at a later date.
