The National Weather Service in Dodge City has issued a winter weather advisory for portion of western Kansas, including Ellis and Rush counties.
Light freezing rain or freezing drizzle is expected to create a light glaze, forecasters predicted. Winds are expected to gust up to 35 mph.
The advisory is in effect from 11 p.m. Thursday to 8 a.m. Friday.
To the west, the NWS in Goodland also issued an advisory for most of northwest Kansas, warning that wind chill values are expected to drop into the single digits.
