Nex-Tech and Eagle Broadband have both announced they will offer reduced internet packages to families who have children who need access for education purposes.

Nex-Tech will also offer free installation to families who need it.

Superintendent Ron Wilson thanked the internet providers for their help at Monday night's school board meeting.

HHS will move to online learning on Wednesday and the other USD 489 schools will follow as a result of school closing in light of the coronavirus.

Nex-Tech and Eagle are working with school districts to identify families who do not have internet access needed to provide for their children's education.

Families should have received a communication from the district last week with instructions on how to contact Nex-Tech about the offering, Dustin Schlaefli, director of customer engagement, said.

If you did not receive that communication and you are in need of the service, Schlaefli said you need to contact your school district.

Nex-Tech is working with 35 school districts in its service area,  Schlaefli said.

Each package will look a little different depending on what service fiber, wifi, etc. is available in your area, Schlaefli said.
