Continuous learning in the district is set to start Wednesday.

Continuous Learning Plans are due to the Kansas State Department of Education by April 8.

Secure entrance for Roosevelt Elementary

Rusty Lindsay, USD 489 director of building and grounds, will discuss bids for a secure entrance for Roosevelt Elementary School.

The low bid was from Commercial Builders of Hays for $57,800.

Washington school building

Superintendent Ron Wilson will give the school board an update on the sale of the former Washington school building.

The building was vacated in the fall when the Early Childhood Connections program moved to its new home on 13th Street.

The school board extended a contract in July with Overland Property Group to purchase the school for $500,000.

The developer wants to renovate the former school into apartments, but the purchase is contingent on the developer receiving tax credits for the renovation.

Wilsons said by email Monday he intended to provide an update to the school board on the contract, but he did not anticipate any action being taken.
