BUNKER HILL – In response to area school closings due to the coronavirus, Smoky Hills PBS will begin broadcasting an “At-Home Learning” schedule in support of families, educators, and students. This weekly daytime schedule will begin airing on Monday, March 30 on Smoky Hills PBS.

“Our viewers may see some programming changes in our daytime children's educational programs due to Kansas school buildings being closed,” said Larry Calvery, Smoky Hills PBS general manager.

“With students at home, we know it’s a trying time for teachers, parents, and caregivers to keep everyone learning so we are very excited to be able to provide educational programming for all ages of children in central and western Kansas," Calvery said. "Education is at the heart of our mission, and we’re here to serve Kansans during this crucial time."

Smoky Hills PBS’ mission is to provide learning opportunities for every child, especially those at risk, whenever and wherever they access media.

Smoky Hills PBS will dedicate specific blocks of airtime for pre-K through 12th grade as follows:

7:30 am - Pre K – 2nd

9:00 am - Grades 3rd – 5th

11:00 am - Grades 6th – 8th

1:00 pm - Grades 9th – 12th

A weekly “At-Home Learning” schedule of programs and past episodes are available at www.SmokyHillsPBS.org.
