Willa J. Ruzicka

Willa J. Ruzicka was born August 27, 1936 in Yuma, CO to Gerald T. and Christina (Ernest) Snider. She passed away March 23, 2020 at her home in Oberlin at the age of 83.

Willa grew up in the Yuma and Wray, CO area and received her GED in Oberlin. She married George Ruzicka March 10, 1956 in Colorado Springs, CO. They moved to a farm SE of Oberlin. Willa worked as a CNA and CMA at the Good Samaritan Society of Decatur County for many years. She also worked for a trailer factory in Oberlin, was a waitress and was a member of the ZCBJ Bohemian Lodge. Willa enjoyed yard work, nature, and wildlife. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. After retirement, she enjoyed sitting on her porch watching the wildlife and her flowers in their yard and the sunshine.

Willa was preceded in death by her parents; sons: Dennis, Doyle and Darrel Ruzicka; daughter, Georganne Johnson; brothers, Harland and Jerry Snider and sisters, Dorothy Crabtree and Norma Belgouvski. She is survived by her husband, George of the home; daughter-in-law, Nancy Vath of Oberlin, KS; brother, John (Phyllis) Snider of Fort Morgan, CO; grandchildren: Derek, Zeke, and Zach Ruzicka, Patricia Chitwood, Scotty and Christopher Ruzicka, Patricia Chitwood, Levi, Lacey, and Wade Johnson, and numerous great grandchildren.
