Mike Jones was born March 26, 1953, in Bogue, Kansas, to Maurice and Ruth Mary (Malin) Jones. He passed away March 19, 2020, at Great Plains Health, North Platte, NE at the age of 66.
Mike graduated from Bogue High School and then went on to get his associate degree from NWKTS. He married Denise Parks at the United Methodist Church in Hill City, Ks on September 4, 1976. Mike worked in the oil industry from 1976 to 2019. He enjoyed camping, fishing, trapping turtles and frogs and playing card games. Mike also loved spending time with his grandkids and best friend, Gary Alstrom.
Mike was preceded in death by his father, Maurice; brother, Richard Jones and father-in-law, Albert Parks. He is survived by his wife, Denise of Oberlin, KS; mother, Peggy Jones of Hill City, Kansas; sons: Wade (Renee) Jones of Oberlin, KS and Tim Jones of Lawrence, KS; sisters: Debbie Budig and Sandy Patton; grandchildren: Hannah, Morgan, Kacie, Hunter and Charleigh; nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held 11:00 am Wednesday, March 25, 2020 at the Oberlin Cemetery. Visitation will be 1-8:00 pm Tuesday, March 24 at Pauls Funeral Home, Oberlin.
