PHILLIPSBURG — In an effort to assist residents of Phillips County dealing with the COVID-19 outbreak, the Phillips County Sheriff's Office announced Friday it will begin a community assistance program.
The program was launched to help families or individuals who are quarantined to their homes, the elderly or other high-risk individuals, the announcement said.
"We will deliver supplies, groceries or medications as needed," the announcement said.
The program will only be available within the county.
To take advantage of the assistance, purchases and payments must be arranged with the store or vendor, as deputies will not be authorized to accept payment.
"Hopefully, this will provide some relief for those having to stay at home, in this time of uncertainty," the sheriff's office said.
