Vesta Fern Ostmeyer

Vesta Fern Ostmeyer, 98 years old, died March 18, 2020 at the Logan County Manor in Oakley, Kansas.

Vesta was born in Menlo, Kansas on February 15, 1922 to Roy and Fern Hatten.  She attended school at Menlo, Kansas.  She was married to Henry Ostmeyer, Jr. on January 4,  1944 in Oakley.  They celebrated 73 years of marriage.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry, as well as her parents, Roy and Fern Hatten.  Also, by her younger sisters Cleo Briery and Lois Koster Davis, and a great granddaughter, Searia Howard.

Vesta is survived by her sons Larry Ostmeyer and wife Cathy of Royce City, Texas, Tom Ostmeyer and wife Diana of Arvada, Colorado, and Jerry Ostmeyer of Dallas, Texas.  Also by daughters Mary Lu Kruse and husband Rodney of Oakley, Kansas, Pat Wycoff of Oakley, Kansas, and Karen Huelsman and husband Ken of Lakewood, Colorado.  She also leaves 18 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great-grandcildren.

Because of the current challenges that the world is facing at the present time, this is a private, immediate family only, funeral and burial to be held on Friday, March 20, 2020, with no visitation.  The family will host a Celebration of Life in the future, to be announced at a later date.
