GARFIELD—Joyce Stude, 90, passed away March 15, 2020 at her home in Garfield.

She was born July 1, 1929 in Kansas City, Mo., to Oliver and Ettie Countryman Howell.

A lifetime area resident she was a member of the United Methodist Church, Garfield. She loved to bowl and was a member of the Over 50 Club, E.H.U., and Election Board, all of Garfield. She was an avid crafter.

On April 20, 1950, she married Melburn Stude at Garfield. He survives.

Other survivors include: two sons, Larry (Marilyn) Stude, and David Stude, both of Larned; two daughters, Peggy Janke, McCracken, Brenda (Maurice) Hall, Garfield; eight grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, James Howell; a great-grandson, Carter Haney; and a son-in-law, Ivan Janke.

Memorial graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Garfield Cemetery, Garfield, with Pastor David Spare presiding. Visitation  will be from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, with family present from 6 to 8 p.m. at Beckwith Mortuary, Larned. Inurnment in Garfield Cemetery, Garfield.
