A winter weather advisory has been issued for a swath of northwest Kansas, as a wintry mix moves into the region Friday.

The National Weather Service in Dodge City is predicting up to 2 inches of snow north of a Scott City to Ness City line.

The NWS predicts the weather will bring rain to Ellis County, which will change to snow late Friday evening. That snow is expected to continue through mid-morning Saturday, with a total accumulation of up to 1.5 inches.

The chance of rain will continue through next week, with a 30 percent to 50 percent chance of rain each day Sunday through Thursday.
