Fred E. Meyer

Fred E. Meyer, 84, of Gypsum, passed away Monday, March 9, 2020. He was born Sept. 18, 1935, in Carlton, to Jesse and Thirza (Jones) Meyer.

He attended Chapman High School and graduated in 1953.

Fred married Mary Jo Karber on July 19, 1955. They had five daughters of whom he was extremely proud.

Left to mourn his passing are his wife, Mary Jo, of the home; daughters, Jeanette Leander (Bill, of Gypsum, Pat Belt (Dan, of Lakewood, Colo., Debbie Koster (Jim, of Bennington, Diana Budke (Dennis, of Hays, and Carol Craver (Kevin, of Gypsum; grandchildren, Chelsy, Sarah, Chad, Jennifer, Kyle, Craig, Brian, Travis, Cory and Casey; and 16 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his siblings, Virgil Meyer, Idelle Ade, Willie Meyer, Karl Meyer, Lola Beemer, Betty Sexton, Glen Meyer and Albert Meyer.

Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Thursday, March 12, with family greeting friends from 5-8 p.m., and rosary service at 7 p.m., all at Ryan Mortuary, Salina.

Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled at 10 a.m. Friday, March 13, at St. Mary Queen of the Universe Catholic Church, Salina. Burial will follow in St. Patrick Catholic Cemetery, Gypsum.
