Neil J. Bland, age 85, passed away on Wednesday, March 4, 2020 at the Wesley Medical Center in Wichita, Kansas. He was born on July 8, 1934 in Plainville, Kansas, the son of Harley Cecil & Lilly A. Smith. A resident of Scott City, Kansas since 1971 moving from Colby, Kansas, he was a technician for KN Energy from 1966 until he retired in 1995.
He was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Scott City, Kansas.
On July 15, 1963 he married Thelma R. Meis in Plainville, Kansas. She passed away on June 24, 2014 in Colby, Kansas.
Survivors include his Four Sons - Byron Bland of Hays, Kansas, Warren Bland of Scott City, Kansas, Randall & Melissa Bland of Garden City, Kansas, and Ryan & Amanda Bland of Trenton, Nebraska, One Sister - Irma Ewing of Longmont, Colorado, and Five Grandchildren.
Neil was preceded in death by his Parents, Wife - Thelma, and One Sister - Eunice Baham.
Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, March 9, 2020 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Scott City, Kansas with Fr. Rudin Din presiding.
Interment will be in the Scott County Cemetery in Scott City, Kansas.
Memorials In Lieu of Flowers can be made to the St. Joseph Catholic Church in care of Price and Sons Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Saturday and 1:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Sunday at Price & Sons Funeral Home in Scott City, Kansas.
