Bernadine Ruth (Homler) Kuhn, age 91, of Hays, Kansas passed away Tuesday, March 3, 2020 in Hays. She was born at home on July 22, 1924 in Ellis, Kansas to Robert and Nellie (Bassler) Homler. She married John Kuhn on August 20, 1945 in Ellis, Kansas.
She is survived by three sons and three daughters. Robert (Bob) Kuhn and wife Linda of Broken Arrow, OK; Zoe Gleason of Bozeman, MT; Mark (Dutch) and wife Shirley of Sterling, Ks; Linda Kuhn, wife of Darrell Kuhn (deceased); Patrick Kuhn and wife Diane of Ellis, Ks; Mary Gillespie and husband John of Sterling, Ks; and Rhonda Meyerhoff of Clifton, Ks; 17 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren, and countless nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband John, and sons Darrell and David.
Bernadine volunteered in a way that reflected her warmth and love – she gave freely to Meals on Wheels, the Mary Elizabeth Maternity Home and Hospice. Her personal time was spent reading, crocheting, quilting canning and making baby blankets for numerous new moms and babies.
Funeral services will be Friday, March 20th, 2020 at 1:00 PM at the St John Chapel, Via Christi Village, Hays, with inurnment following the services in St Mary's Cemetery, Ellis. Ks.
