Roy Wayne Spence, 75, of Goodland passed away Monday, March 2, 2020 at St. Anthony’s Hospital in Lakewood, Colorado.
Wayne was born January 5, 1945 to Walter and Myrtle (Turner) Spence in Fort Smith, Arkansas. Wayne grew up in Arkansas until they moved to Sharon Springs where he finished high school. On January 29, 1962, he married Darla Dreiling in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
Wayne worked as a mechanic for many years and owned the Mobile Station in Goodland. He proudly served as a Reserve Goodland Police Officer and on the Reserve Fire Department. Wayne enjoyed hunting, fishing, taking the motorhome camping every weekend possible, and he dearly loved spending time with his family and friends.
Preceding him in death are his grandparents and parents; infant son, Paul Wayne; brothers, Ray and Gene Spence; sister, Ruby Parks and granddaughter, Nicole Clark.
He is survived by his wife, Darla; daughters, LeAnn Gordon, Hoisington, KS; Lisa Spence, Wamego, KS; Lori (Mike) Clark, Hays, KS; Angela Spence, Hoisington, KS; son, Jason Spence, Lakewood, CO; brother Jay Spence, Fort Smith, AR; grandchildren, Brandon Gordon, Audry (Shawn) Adams, Eric Hellerud, Mathew Clark, Morgan Clark and Raeley Spence; 6 great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and friends.
