Kenneth Ray Fairchild Sr.

Kenneth Ray Fairchild Sr., 77, died on Monday, March 2, 2020 at Sand Piper Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center in Wichita, Kansas. He was born July 3, 1942 in Scott City the son of Chester Earl Fairchild, Sr. and Velma Beatrice (Hebler) Fairchild. He married Sandra (Jones) Gillum in Scott City December 26, 1965, and later Becky (Bruner) Fairchild in Raton, New Mexico August 29, 1973.

Kenneth was raised in Scott County and graduated from Scott Community High School. After graduation Kenneth served in the United States Army before moving back to establish his family and a career in farming and agriculture. Kenneth can be described as fun-loving, good-hearted, devoted, and hardworking. He enjoyed watching NASCAR and could most likely be spotted wearing a NASCAR hat and overalls.

Survivors include his Children - Kenneth Ray Fairchild, Jr. (Tammy Wilson) of Newton, Rodney Fairchild, Rashell (Juan) Neri, Lesli Bruner, a Brother - Chester Fairchild, Jr. all of Wichita, Grandchildren - Devin, Jessica, Marissa, Nicole, and Melissa, Great-Grandchildren - Ashlyn, Elizabeth, Winter, Michael, and Devin.

He was preceded in death by his parents, as well as Sandra, and Becky.

Funeral Service will be held Saturday March 7, 2020 at the First Christian Church in Scott City with Rev. Rodney Hopper officiating. Interment will follow at the Scott County Cemetery. Visitation will take placed at Boomhower Funeral Home in Dighton, Thursday March 5, 2020 from 1:00 pm -8:00 pm and Friday March 6, 2020 from 9:00 am – 8:00 pm.
