Lana Sue (Taylor) Anderson

Lana Sue (Taylor) Anderson was born on November 4, 1953 to Wayne “Red” and Ruth (Hyde) Taylor in Hoxie, Kansas. She passed away on March 1, 2020 at Hays Medical Center due to complications of Leukemia at the age of 66. She attended Hoxie High School and graduated in1971.

On April 8, 1972, Lana married Steven Gilbert at the Hoxie Christian Church. They made their home in Colby. They were blessed with three daughters, Dalene, Darci, and Tonya. They divorced in 1983. Lana enjoyed cleaning houses and taking care of people. She worked at the hospital during high school and then had her own successful cleaning business doing what she loved for 35 years. Lana loved being a mother and a grandmother. She cherished the time she spent with her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Wayne “Red” and Ruth Taylor and brothers, Randy Taylor and Ross Taylor.

Lana is survived by her daughters Dalene Gilbert and partner Jason Robben, Oakley, Kansas, Darci and Dustin Kauffman, Colby, Kansas and Tonya Gilbert, Colby, Kansas; and grandchildren, Trevor Albers, Aaron Robinson, and Stella Kauffman all of Colby, Kansas.

A visitation will be held at the Mickey-Leopold Funeral Home, Hoxie, Kansas on March 5, 2020 from 10:00 A.M. until Noon. Following the visitation, there will be a private family interment in the Hoxie City Cemetery at 2:00 P.M. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to the Lana Sue Anderson Memorial Fund and may be sent in care of Mickey-Leopold Funeral Home, PO Box 987, Hoxie, Kansas 67740.
