William R. 'Bill' Denison

William R. “Bill” Denison, 68, Hays, died Sunday, March 1, 2020 at HaysMed.

He was born December 14, 1951 in Hays, the son of George R. and Dorothy L. (Galloway) Denison.  He was a graduate of Hays High School in the class of 1970 and attended Fort Hays State University.  On September 11, 1976 he was united in marriage to Kenda L. Wasinger in Hays, and they celebrated over 43 years of marriage.  Bill was a taxidermist who owned and operated Trophy Fish and Game, a wheat farmer, lived for hunting and fishing, and enjoyed taking his grandkids fishing.

Survivors include his wife; Kenda of the home in Hays, a son; John Denison of Hays, a daughter; Jennifer Kohart and husband David of Lawrence, five grandchildren; Olivia Kohart, Hannah Kohart, Phoebe Denison, Kash Denison, and Russel Denison, and two sisters; Sally Walker of Overland Park and Barbara Denison of Newton.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister; Susan Denison.

Memorial Services will be at 11:00 am on Saturday, March 7, 2020 at Hays Memorial Chapel Funeral Home with Rev. Celeste Lasich officiating.  Private family inurnment will be at a later date.  Family will receive friends from 10:00 am until service time at the funeral home.  Memorials are suggested to the Kansas Department of Wildlife, Parks, and Tourism.  Condolences and memories of Bill may be shared with the family at www.haysmemorial.com
