Fort Hays State Softball closes out its first month of the season with more regional crossover games at the Washburn Invitational in Topeka, Kansas this weekend (Feb. 28-Mar. 1). The Tigers will face two teams from the Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) on their first day of action before playing four teams from the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) over the final two days. The Tigers take a 10-6 overall record into the weekend.

Quick Notes
- Fort Hays State meets Rockhurst for the first time since the 2015 season. The Tigers hold a 4-2 advantage in the all-time series with the Hawks. The teams played a doubleheader during the 2015 season at Rockhurst that ended in a split.
- Fort Hays State and Missouri-St. Louis also meet for the first time since 2015. UMSL holds a 3-1 advantage in the all-time series. The teams met in Bentonville, Arkansas in 2015 with UMSL pulling out a 5-4 win.
- Fort Hays State and Sioux Falls last met in 2018 at the St. Cloud State Tournament held in a dome. FHSU lost that game 2-0. Hailey Chapman was the starter in that game for FHSU, allowing eight hits and two walks with four strikeouts in a complete game effort. Frankie Mickelson of USF hit a 2-run homer in the sixth, which accounted for all of the scoring in the game. She is a senior this year. USF holds a 2-0 advantage in the all-time series.
- Fort Hays State and Southwest Minnesota State have met only once in history, occurring in 2016 in St. Cloud, Minnesota. SMSU won that meeting 2-1 in 8 innings. The Mustangs are playing their first games of the season this weekend.
- Fort Hays State and St. Cloud State have met three times prior, the last occurring in 2018 at St. Cloud State's dome tournament. The Huskies won that meeting 6-4. Hailey Chapman allowed all six runs to SCSU, all scored during the 5th inning after FHSU held a 3-0 lead. Kylie Thomsen, a freshman at the time, threw a complete game against the Tigers with six hits allowed and two strikeouts. St. Cloud State is receiving votes in the NFCA national poll.
- Fort Hays State and Minnesota-Crookston have met only one time in history, occurring back in 2007. FHSU won that meeting 8-0.
-Fort Hays State enters the weekend on a 2-game win streak. The Tigers are coming off wins over Midwestern State and St. Mary's last Saturday in Oklahoma.
