Vivian Carol 'Tootsie' (Bremmer) Streit

Vivian Carol “Tootsie” (Bremmer) Streit died Monday evening, February 24, 2020 at Hays Medical Center in Hays, KS.

Carol was born on March 7, 1941 in Booker, TX. She was the eighth child of Konrad and Maida (Halliburton) Bremmer. She graduated from Booker High School and St. Mary's of the Plains in Dodge City, KS. with a Bachelors of Science in Home Economics.

On July 28, 1962, she married Donald L. Streit in Tipton, KS. at St. Boniface Catholic Church.

Carol was a member of the St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Offerle, KS. She was the organist for many years. Carol served the church by providing fresh floral and plant arrangements, teaching youth religion class, and sponsoring many CYO ski trips.

Carol spent 38 years in the teaching profession in Offerle, Kinsley, Hanston, and Dodge City. She loved teaching cooking and sewing, volleyball, music, swimming, gardening, and camping.

Carol is survived by her husband, Debbie and Terry Bottorf of Hays, KS, Don and Alma Streit of San Antonio, TX, Dan and Karen Streit of Basehor, KS, and David and Traci Streit of Edwardsville, KS, a brother Dale Bremmer of Hattiesburg, MS, a sister Barbara Pavley and husband Bob of Canton, IL, 8 Grandchildren, and 3 Great Grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Edwin Bremmer, Konrad “Bunny” Bremmer, and 3 sisters Dortha (Bremmer) Cline, Francis (Bremmer) Brin, and Mary (Bremmer) McDaniel.

Visitation is from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. On Friday, February 28, 2020 at McKillip Memorial Chapel, Kinsley. Vigil service will be at 7 p.m. February 28, 2020 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Offerle, KS. Funeral Mass is at 10:30 a.m. On Saturday, February 29, 2020 burial will follow in New St. Joseph's Cemetery, Offerle, KS.

In leiu of flowers, the family suggests donations to St. Joseph's Church for masses, Offerle Community Foundation, Edwards County Ministerial Alliance, or St. Jude's Children's Hospital in care of McKillip Memorial Funeral Home, Kinsley.
