🏀 FHSU women's enter postseason ranked ninth in coaches poll

The Fort Hays State women's basketball team slid back in both national polls this week (March 4), moving to No. 9 in the WBCA Division II Coaches Poll and 15th in the D2CSC Media Poll.

The Tigers accumulated 370 points in the voting process of the coaches poll, 15 behind eighth-ranked Pittsburg State.

Fort Hays State finished the regular season 25-3 overall and 16-3 in MIAA play, reaching the 25-win plateau for the eighth time in team history.

This is the fifth time the Tigers have been ranked ninth in the program's DII history, and the first since February 15, 2022. FHSU is 7-1 when ranked ninth in the coaches poll.

Fort Hays State has now been listed in the top 25 119 times. This is the Tigers' 79th appearance inside the top 10. FHSU is 182-46 when ranked and 129-27 when ranked inside the top 10. The Tigers are 11-3 in the MIAA Championship while ranked.

The Tigers will open the postseason on Thursday (March 6, 8:15 p.m.) when they play either Central Missouri or Emporia State in the quarterfinal round of the MIAA Basketball Championship presented by Southern Bank.
