Carol L. (Wittman) Gregg – age 73, died Sunday, February 23, 2020, at Hays Medical Center, Hays, Kansas.
She was born July 17, 1946, in Hays, Kansas to Vernon M. and Armella M. (Herl) Wittman. She married Eldon Gregg on May 21, 1966, in Hays, Kansas.
She worked at Southwestern Bell Telephone Company in Hays for 24 and ½ years, Blue Cross and Blue Shield, Glassman Corporation, Waffle Crete, and retired in 2006.
She grew up in Victoria and was the 1964 Class Valedictorian at Victoria High School.
Carol was a member of St. Nicholas of Myra Catholic Church, the Telephone Pioneers of America, a past board member of Cancer Council of Ellis County, and a past board member of the United Way of Ellis County. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, cooking and her family.
Survivors include her husband, Eldon Gregg, of the home; one son, Daryl Gregg, Hays, KS; one daughter, Denise VanderGiesen and her husband, Bill, Mulvane, KS; one brother, Lloyd Wittman and his wife, Diana, Andover, KS; one sister, Connie Wittman, Kearney, NE; four grandchildren, Matea Gregg; Torrie Gregg; Kyler VanderGiesen and Ainsley VanderGiesen. She was preceded in death by her parents.
The family suggests memorial to the Cancer Council of Ellis County.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 A.M. Thursday, February 27, 2020, at St. Nicholas of Myra Catholic Church, 2901 East 13th Street, Hays, Kansas.
Visitation is from 6:00 to 9:00 P.M. Wednesday, and from 9:00 to 9:45 A.M. Thursday, all at Cline’s-Keithley Mortuary of Hays, 1919 E 22nd, Hays, Kansas.
