Lifelong Goodland, KS, resident Robert Lynn Reed, 67, passed away on Tuesday, February 18, 2020 at St. Anthony Hospital in Lakewood, CO.
He was born on November 29, 1952 in Scott City, KS to Lavern Dale and Shirley Maxine (Rapier) Reed. He was one of 5 children. Robert attended school in Goodland.
Robert had three children; Brian, Shawn and Kerri. He worked for the Sugar Beet Factory, City of Goodland as a cemetery caretaker and then a parks groundskeeper for many years. He was also part of the Sherman County Sherriff’s Reserve. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, muscle cars, playing the lottery, drinking coffee at the Cowboy Corner, driving around town, and most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were his parents.
Surviving family includes his children Brian Pettit of Denver, Colorado, Shawn Reed of Manhattan, KS and Kerri (Jr.) Vasquez of Goodland, KS. He is also survived by his grandchildren Haley, Melinda and Nat Vasquez, Kiley, Austin and Brandon Pettit and Taylor Owings and his great granddaughter Dahlia Hunter; three brothers Barry (Dianna) Reed of Alliance, NE, David (Denise) Reed of Lee’s Summit, MO and Ronnie (Debbie) Reed of Goodland, KS, and one sister Teresa (Brian) Vance of Wray, CO.
Funeral services for Robert will be held on Tuesday, February 25, 2020 at 1:30 PM MT at Koons-Russell Funeral Home in Goodland with Pastor Brent Flanders officiating. Burial will follow in the Goodland Cemetery.
Visitation will be held on Monday, February 24, 2020 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM MT at Koons-Russell Funeral Home in Goodland.
