Tiger women roll past Rogers State

HAYS, Kan. – When the Fort Hays State women’s basketball team played MIAA newcomer Rogers State a month and a half ago in Claremore they needed a fourth quarter rally two win by two. The rematch in Hays Thursday had very little drama. The Tigers (19-6, 10-6 MIAA) scored 13 unanswered to open the game then scored the final 13 points of the first quarter to build a 25-point lead and cruised to a 100-59 victory.

The Tigers shot 57-percent for the game including 9-of-22 from beyond the arc while holding Rogers State (4-22, 2-15 MIAA) to 34-percent shooting.

All five Tiger starters scored double-figures led by Kacey Kennett’s 16 points. Kennett hit four threes and pulled down six rebounds. Jaden Hobbs added 14 points and three assists, Whitney Randall and Belle Barbieri both scored 12 and Taylor Rolfs added 10.

Barbieri also pulled down a game-high 11 rebounds for her eighth double-double of the season.
