The Fort Hays State Softball doubleheader with Kansas Wesleyan University has been moved up a day to Tuesday due to forecasted weather. The games were originally scheduled for Wednesday, but the weather forecast in the Hays area does not look favorable, which prompted the change. The doubleheader will begin at 3 pm.

Live video and live stats will be available for the games.

The Tigers bring in a record of 6-4 overall, while Kansas Wesleyan is 3-1 on the young season. Kansas Wesleyan also served as Fort Hays State's home opening opponent last year. FHSU swept that doubleheader by scores of 2-0 and 13-1.

FHSU went 2-3 at the Edmond Regional Softball Tournament this past weekend. Michaelanne Nelson tossed the first no-hitter for the Tigers since 2014 in the 1-0 win over Oklahoma Baptist to close out the weekend. It was the first extra-inning no-hitter in program history. She has a 2.48 ERA with a 3-1 record so far this year.

After a strong Sunday at the plate, outfielder Terran Caldwell leads the team in batting average at a .429 clip. Kristen Reed is hitting .344, while tied for the team lead in RBIs with Alexis Velazquez, each with 8. Reed also leads the team in extra-base hits (4) and total hits (11). Hannah Gates leads in stolen bases with 5.

Following their games with Kansas Wesleyan on Tuesday, the Tigers will return to Oklahoma for five more games this coming weekend at the third installment of the Edmond Regional Softball Tournament this year. Oklahoma Christian and Central Oklahoma will be serving as hosts for weekend games for the third straight week, though it is just the second time FHSU is making the trip there this season.
