Marvelene (Lund) Schreiber

Marvelene Schreiber, 86, of Osborne, KS passed away on Thursday, February 13, 2020 at Parkview Care Center in Osborne, KS.  She was born on September 11, 1933 to Harold & Alma (Bradshaw) Lund in Osborne County, KS.  Marvelene was one of several children.

Marvelene graduated from Osborne High School in 1951, after her family moved to town from the family farm at Covert.

Marvelene married Ted Thornburg on December 21, 1951.  They moved to San Diego where Ted was stationed.  Marvelene moved back to Kansas while Ted was overseas.  She was widowed early, as Ted was killed in a car wreck.  To this union there was one daughter born, Donetta.  Marvelene's faith in God and church brought her through that trying time.

On January 7, 1965, Marvelene married Dick Schreiber.  To this union a son was born, which gave Donetta not only a dad, but a brother, Gary.

Marvelene was an active member of the VFW Aux.  She held many offices in the auxiliary.  She was well known for her baked goods.  She supplied many a pie, cake or cinnamon roll for Bingo, the Chuckwagon, funeral dinners and birthdays.  Marvelene was also a well known seamstress in the area for repairs and constructing new garments.

Marvelene was preceded in death by her parents; husbands Ted and Dick (2016); grandson, Lance Burch.

Marvelene is survived by her daughter: Donetta Thronburg of Ellsworth, KS; son: Gary (Cecelia) Schreiber of Osborne; grandsons: Ted (Kari) Anderson of Halstead, KS; Cole & Lane Schreiber of Osborne, KS; great-grandchildren: Malik, Lance & Kassidy Anderson;  sister Phyllis Kreft of Osborne and a host of nieces, nephews & friends.
