Ellis Co. restaurant and lodging inspections 2/3 ⁠– 2/16

Last week’s inspection results from the Kansas Department of Agriculture:

O'Loughlin Elementary - Feb. 13
1401 Hall - Hays

A routine inspection found one violation.

  1. There are two hot boxes in this establishment. Neither are keeping correct temperatures. One hot box had fully cooked chicken tacos at the temperature of 123 F. Ambient Temperature was 126 F from the inspector's thermometer. The second hot box had fully cooked assorted vegetables that were pulled from the steam box 15 minutes prior and the full cooked vegetables were at the temperature of 124 F. Ambient Temperature of the box was 126 F.

2350 Eighth - Hays

A routine inspection found one violation.

  1. On the food prep table, there was a stationary can opener that had dried food residue present along the blade.

Victoria Elementary - Feb. 10
602 Tenth - Victoria

A routine inspection found two violations.

  1. On the salad buffet line, there are two containers of cut lettuce and cheese that are not under the sneeze guard during service. 
  2. The vacuum breaker on the ware-washing machine is leaking during the rinse cycle. There are water inlets below the flood rim of the ware washing machine base.
