WAKEENEY — Construction has begun for the replacement of the spillway bridge on Highway 147 at Cedar Bluff Reservoir. This has resulted in a complete closure of approximately 1.8 miles of the highway.
This project is scheduled to be completed and open to traffic by late August.
The area of highway closed is clearly marked with barricades on either end.
The section of highway will remain closed to all activities until the project is completed. This includes foot traffic, bicycles, vehicles, etc. It is both illegal and unsafe be on this section of closed highway for any reason. Failure to stay out of the area can result in injury from construction equipment and vehicles entering and exiting the area, fines, and tickets.
Access to fish the dam area can be gained through the North Shore Area of Cedar Bluff State Park.
Access to Cedar Bluff State Park will remain available throughout the duration of the project. Vehicle permits are required.
