FHSU volleyball announces 2020 signing class

Fort Hays State head volleyball coach Jessica Wood-Atkins has announced the signing of four student-athletes that will join the squad for the 2020 season. This year's class includes Morgan McIntire, Caitlyn Rexroat, Carly Rodaway and Riley Tinder.

Morgan McIntire | Defensive Specialist/Outside Hitter | 5-8

Gardner, Kan. (Gardner Edgerton HS)

Morgan McIntire joins the Tigers after four years at Gardner Edgerton High School. McIntire earned All-State honors as a senior in 2019 while earning all-league honors three times. She helped the Trailblazers to a pair of State Championship appearances, including a third-place finish in 2019. The defensive specialist/outside hitter led all of Kansas Class 6A with 492 kills as a senior. She is a member of the 1000/1000 team, recording 1,000 kills and 1,000 digs in her career at Gardner Edgerton. McIntire is a member of the National Honor Society, she was listed on the high honor roll all four years and will graduate in the top 10% of her graduating class.

Caitlyn Rexroat | Defensive Specialist/Libero | 5-9

Spring Hill, Kan. (Spring Hill HS)

Caitlyn Rexroat heads to Hays from Spring Hill High School in Spring Hill, Kan. She was picked as a second team all-league selection as a senior in 2019 after helping the Broncos to the State Tournament for the first time in 34 years. The defensive specialist/libero tallied 498 digs in her senior season. She was a three-time letterwinner in both volleyball and track and field.

Carly Rodaway | Rightside Hitter | 6-0

Lincoln, Neb. (Pius X HS)

Carly Rodaway joins the Fort Hays State squad from Pius X High School in Lincoln, Neb. The rightside hitter earned three volleyball letters and three track and field letters for the Thunderbolts, helping Pius X to a Class A State runner-up finishes in 2018 and 2019. She was selected to play in the 2020 Nebraska Coaches Association all-star volleyball match after her strong performance as a senior in 2019. Rodaway was a member of the National Honor Society throughout her high school tenure. She was high school teammates with current Tigers Morgan Christiansen and Delaney Humm.

Riley Tinder | Outside Hitter/Rightside Hitter/Defensive Specialist | 5-10

Basehor, Kan. (Basehor-Linwood HS)

Riley Tinder joins the Tigers after a strong career at Basehor-Linwood High School. She was a four-time letterwinner in volleyball, earning All-State honors once and all-league honors three times. She set the school record for the most digs and the most kills as a senior in 2019. The Basehor, Kan. native picked up second team All-State honors as a sophomore in 2017 while earning a spot on the 4A all-state tournament team. Tinder is a three-time recipient of the KVA All-Academic award. She also played basketball and track and field throughout her high school tenure, earning multiple all-league honors in basketball and qualifying for the state meet on the track each year.
