K-147 bridge replacement starting in Trego County

The Kansas Department of Transportation expects to begin work next week on a bridge replacement project on K-147 in Trego County.

Crews will be replacing the bridge over the Smoky Hill River at the Cedar Bluff Reservoir located approximately 14 miles south of Ogallah. K-147 is currently closed to through traffic and will remain closed throughout the duration of the project, which is expected to be completed in late August. Traffic is being detoured on I-70, U.S. 283 and K-4.

Wildcat Construction of Wichita is the primary contractor for the project with a total contract cost of approximately $2.2 million. For more information, contact KDOT area construction engineer Nick Rogers at 785-625-9718.
