BUNKER HILL –  The McFadden Charitable Trust has awarded Smoky Hills PBS with a grant for $2,000.

The grant will support the Literacy Leadership initiative in Osborne, KS.

This program provides books to those children enrolled in public preschools within Osborne.  The grant will also support children’s programming on Smoky Hills PBS.

Kelli King, director of finance and administration said, “For several years now we have received support from the McFadden Charitable Trust, providing us the opportunity to put books in young children’s hands.  We could not continue our educational mission without the support of great foundations like the McFadden Charitable Trust.”

The McFadden Charitable Trust was founded in 2002 through the estate of Olan Charles “O.C.” McFadden to benefit all of Osborne County.

Smoky Hills PBS serves 71 counties in central and western Kansas.
